LHU Women’s Track & Field competes at Bucknell Bison Open
LEWISBURG– The Lock Haven women’s indoor track and field team wrapped up two days of action at the Bucknell Bison Open and Multi meet today (Saturday, Jan. 27) with a solid outing.
The meet started yesterday (Friday, Jan. 26) and continued today with the Bald Eagles recording a number of notable marks.
Leading the way on Friday – Day 1 – was the distance medley relay’s fourth-place finish in a time of 12:31.87. To date, its stands as a season-best for the Bald Eagles and remains one of the top marks in the PSAC this season.
Today (Saturday, Jan. 27), the Bald Eagle mid-distance runners led the way with a strong showing at 1,000 meters. Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) finished second of 12 in the event with a time of 3:09.51. Gwen Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) finished fourth with a time of 3:13.18 and Ella Bray (Pocono Pines, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) was 10th (3:34.95).
Sechrist’s strong 1,000-meter race followed a notable run in the mile. She was eighth in the mile with a time of 5:26.50. Kiersten Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) ran 5:27.07 and placed ninth in the mile.
Hunter Barger (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) turned in a strong effort at 400 meters. She was seventh of 29 with a notable time of 1:00.99.
Barger also helped lead the way as part of the Bald Eagles 4×400-meter relay team that finished second in 4:09.89.
In the 60-meter dash prelims, Liberty Gearinger (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia) ran 8.32 and finished 14th of 42.

The Bald Eagles will compete Saturday, Feb. 3 at Utica Blue & Orange Invitational.
