Two new Little Libraries are open

LOCK HAVEN, PA — The community has two new Little Red Schoolhouse Libraries, installed by Thomas L. Brown and the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven.

One Little Library is in Riverview Park in Lockport and one is in Tiger Den Playground on West Bald Eagle Street, across from Weis Market.

Both have been filled with books for kids, teens, and adults.

Brown is Rotary’s partner in the Little Library project. He has built all the Little Libraries in Lock Haven and the one in Lockport, while the city and Woodward Township have provided the stakes to hold them.

Little Libraries are available year-round, and each one is a spot for anyone to take a book, leave a book, or do both.

The Rotary club brings books to the Little Libraries from time to time, but the hope is that each neighborhood will adopt its own Little Library, take care of it, and put books in it as well as take books home to read.

Downtown Rotarians Carmen Banfill, left, and Janine Bruno place books in the Little Library at Riverview Park
