Lady Bucks pick up huge road win at Montgomery, 36-28
By Bees O’Brien
MONTGOMERY, PA- Bucktail entered their Mid Penn Conference clash with rivals Montgomery Monday evening looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season over the weekend. They would do just that on the road in a critical early season game.
Bucktail would get 10 points from Matti Mason, including a clutch third quarter three-point basket to down the Lady Raiders 36-28.
Montgomery led 17-16 at the half, but poor shooting would doom the Lady Raiders in the second half. Bucktail’s 10-2 advantage in the third quarter would prove to be the difference.
Montgomery did outscore Bucktail 10-9 in the fourth quarter and crawled to within 8 points before the Mason three would put the game out of reach with just over 4 minutes remaining.
Eva Sockman added 9 points and Mak Wagner netted 8 points.
The Lady Bucks dominated the glass. Kendall Wagner grabbed 13 rebounds to go along with 7 points. Alexis Lowery was a force on the boards as well for Bucktail. Lowery grabbed 11 boards despite not scoring a single point. Bucktail grabbed 40 rebounds as a team in the contest.
Fallin Reynolds led Montgomery with 18 points.
Now 3-1 and 2-0 in Mid Penn Conference play, the Lady Bucks will return home Saturday evening to host Muncy at 6pm.
