LHU’s Robinson earns Women’s Basketball PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Lock Haven women’s basketball forward Alana Robinson has been named this week’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women’s Basketball Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon (Dec. 4).

Robinson helped lead the Bald Eagles to a 3-0 record last week, which also propelled Lock Haven into the top-ten in the Atlantic Region rankings, coming in at No. 10 for the first time this season and second time since 2018-19.

Robinson was the straw who stirred the drink this past week to lead the Bald Eagles to a perfect 2-0 start in the PSAC after earning victories against Pitt-Johnstown (59-57) and IUP (65-54).

The victory over IUP was the first for Lock Haven since 2007.

In the win over IUP, Robinson scored a career-high 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting, while pulling in seven rebounds and dishing out four assists.

However, as dominate as she was on offense, it was her defense that jumped off the stat sheet, as she blocked five shots and plucked three steals.

Robinson started the week with nine points, six rebounds, two steals and a block in the victory over Georgia Court, before posting a 16-point, seven-rebound, 2-steal and a block performance in the victory over UPJ.

The Bald Eagles, who are now 5-1 overall, have won five games in a row.

Robinson won the award twice in 2022-23.
