PA Wilds Center partnership with Starr Hill Winery continues with the release of Squatch N Berry in Cans

CURWENSVILLE, PA – Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery’s partnership with the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship continues with the release of the Squatch N Berry now available in cans.

Starr Hill Winery’s Squatch N Berry Wine was released in February of 2023 and premiered at the annual Groundhog Wine Fest in Clearfield, PA – part of the I-80 Frontier landscape of the Pennsylvania Wilds region.

“We’re excited to partner with the PA Wilds on this wine,” said Kenn Starr, president of Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery, when the wine was first released. “The PA Wilds Center has done great work bringing awareness to our region, which is something we have always strived to do as a business. It just made sense to have the logo on our Squatch N Berry wine.”

The Squatch N Berry will now be able to be enjoyed in a can, not just a traditional wine bottle.

“There was so much excitement and positive feedback given for the Squatch N Berry when it was released in the spring. I am glad to see that excitement carry over to the cans in the fall, which I think will be more convenient for customers with the same great taste and story,” said Hannah Brock, Licensing Manager for the PA Wilds Center.

Starr Hill Winery started canning their fermented fruit beverages in 2015 with a temporary canning system. Eventually, the winery was able to purchase a canning line from Jack’s Hard Cider, based in Gettysburg, so that they could can within their facility. Their new system was purchased in 2022 and has streamlined their canning process. The Squatch N Berry beverage will be 8.5% alcohol by volume to potentially allow sale at local beer distributors.

Until then, the Squatch N Berry will be available for both wholesale and retail at Starr Hill Winery’s locations and online.

When you buy Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery’s Squatch N Berry wine, part of the proceeds support the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship’s mission to integrate conservation and economic development in a way that strengthens and inspires communities in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
