Firemen put quick stop on Carter Towers, Lock Haven fire
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Just before 4 a.m. on Thursday, the Lock Haven Fire Department was dispatched for a reported fire at Carter Towers at 11 S. Jones Street, at the base of the Bellefonte Avenue hill.
City Fire Chief Tyler Wooding said multiple 911 callers reported smoke on the fifth floor of the building. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small smoldering fire in the bedroom of an apartment on the fifth floor.
According to Chief Wooding, many disabled occupants were assisted from the fifth floor by firefighters. One building occupant was assessed and treated on scene by EMS for trouble breathing unrelated to the fire.
The chief said damage to the building is estimated at $500. The incident was under control and units returned to service at 05:20 a.m.
