Obituary – Anna Mae Hull

Anna Mae Hull, 103, a resident of Heartland Personal Care Home in Woolrich, died on September 3, 2023.

Born August 14, 1920, and raised in the Bellefonte area, Anna was the daughter of the late Frank Blazina and Mary Carmella Polce Blazina.  The late Oscar Lucas was her stepfather.

She and her husband, the late Arthur Lynn Hull, moved to Lock Haven in 1941 and then to Mackeyville in 1945, where they owned and operated a dairy farm near Belles Spring Golf Course.  In 1971, they sold the farm and relocated to Rote.  She was also the head chef at the Dutch Inn and Gift Shop in Mill Hall for many years until its closing; a member of Holy Spirit Parish attending St. Agnes Catholic Church; a member and past president of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Agnes Catholic Church; a member of the Alpine Star Lodge #1827; and a member, past regent and past district deputy for Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Ave Maria #399.

Anna was hardworking, devoted to her loving family, proud of her Central Pennsylvania heritage, and always willing to help others.  She was very passionate about education, and also loved sports–especially Penn State football.

She was also preceded in death by all of her children (Florine Hull, Mary Ann Hull Quiggle, David Hull, Richard Hull and Robert Hull); her sisters Rosella Blazina and Mary Blazina Laux; her brothers Frank Blazina, Charles Blazina and James Lucas; and her grandson Matthew Quiggle.  Her aunt, the late Florence Polce, resided with Anna for many years.

Anna is survived by brothers Larry Lucas and Ed Lucas; daughters-in-law Donna Romig, Patricia Hull and Sharon Hull; grandchildren Kathi Hull Wickham, Kieran Hull, Keith Hull, Ryan Hull, Kyle Hull, Maria Hull Campbell, Christine Hull Cordary, Rob Quiggle, Julie Quiggle Kramer, Margaret Quiggle Driver, Heather Hull Powell and Chris Hull; 26 great grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, PA 17745 with Rev. Fr. Joseph Orr officiating.

Private burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Bellefonte.

The family would like to thank all of Anna’s doctors and caregivers, especially the team at Heartland Personal Care Home for the wonderful care, kindness and support they provided to her.
