Philadelphia man charged with stalking in Renovo area incident
CHAPMAN TOWNSHIP, PA – State police say they have charged a Philadelphia man with stalking and harassment in a mid-August incident in which a Renovo area teen-ager was the victim. That incident, on the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 17, had set off a stir on social media in western Clinton County.
The arrestee was listed as a 29-year-old Philadelphia resident, no name given; police did note a black Porsche they described as a suspicious vehicle. They said the victim was a 17-year-old female from Westport.
Police said that on the Aug. 17 date the female reported her vehicle was being followed by another vehicle. State police responded and made a traffic stop on a vehicle matching her description. The police report said the driver denied what was initially reported. Police said they got the information for the driver and released him but continued their investigation.
Through that investigation, police said, it was determined the suspicious vehicle engaged in stakling/harassing behavior against the female. Charges were subsequently filed through the Renovo area district justice.
