Keystone 11s take sectional opener over Southern Tioga, 10-3

DANVILLE, PA – The Keystone 11 all-star team took its Section 12 opener on Friday, a 10-3 win over Southern Tioga, the game played at tournament host Danville.

Keystone starting pitcher Carter Miller got his team off and winging, pitching three shutout innings, giving up no hits, walking two and striking out seven. Mack Packer, Chase Karstetter and Austin Dupert finished up. Dupert went the final 1.2 innings, giving up two hits and no runs.

The game was tied at 2-2 going into the bottom of the fourth but Keystone scored four in that frame and four more in the fifth on way to the opening round win.

Six different Keystoners combined for nine hits. Colt Hill, Brad Brungard and Dupert all had two singles each and an RBI each. Cooper Strouse had a triple and an RBI and singles came from Karstetter and Packer, Karstetter with two runs batted in.

Keystone will move into a Saturday afternoon winners’ bracket final.
