Keystone Seniors fall in sectional opener to Warrior Run, 11-3

ATHENS, PA – If the Keystone Senior All-Star team wants to add a sectional crown to its district title, they’ll have to do it the hard way. Keystone romped to the district crown with a 3-0 record but lost its sectional opener on Sunday to Warrior Run, the score 11-3, the tourney hosted by Athens Little League.

With the loss Keystone drops into an elimination game on Tuesday against an the loser of a Monday game between Warrior Run and Allegheny Mountain.

On Sunday Warrior Run jumped out to an early 6-0 lead with one in the first, one in the second and four in the third to build a 6-0 lead before Keystone was able to score. Keystone was held to seven hits, all singles: two from Darius Shade and one each from Blake Walker, Malaky Moyd, Aiden Jones, Nolan Cross and Griffin Kerstetter.

Five Keystone players shared the mound duties in Jones, Walker, Cross, Donovan Seyler and Moyd. They gave up a total of 13 hits and Keystone also had three errors.
