Keystone Juniors drop opener to Montoursville
MONTOURSVILLE, PA – Host Montoursville broke open a 4-4 tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn a 7-4 first round win over the Keystone Junior Division team in a game played at Montour Friday night.
Montoursville built a 4-0 lead after four innings, but Keystone answered with four in the top of the fifth to tie things up; only to see the home team add three more in the sixth for the 7-4 lead.
Keystone was held to three hits, a double from Luke Nonemaker and singles from Mason Masorti and Nolan Karstetter, the latter two with RBIs also. Three Keystone pitchers, Kai Fravel, Karstetter and Kole Corman, held Montoursville to three hits but four Keystone errors helped lead to five unearned runs for Montour.
The loss dropped Keystone into the losers bracket on Wednesday, June 28, the game to be played at Montoursville against an opponent to be determined.
