Garden Club volunteers beautify our communities
The Dogwood Circle Garden Club is known for its strong work ethic. But what makes it all the more noteworthy is that the organization’s efforts are all volunteer. And while the area may be going through a dry spell, Dogwood Circle volunteers are up to it. Recently they planted, weeded, watered and nurtured the Triangle Park area in downtown Lock Haven, along with the World War I monument at Church and Main Streets.
Their efforts beautify the community! Their efforts are done, in part, thanks to the Clinton County Community Foundation, which awarded Dogwood a $1,100 grant this year for plants and supplies. Shown on a recent gorgeous, sunny morning at the triangle, for a mock check presentation, were, from left, Connie Barker, JoAnn Bowes, Allan Lugg Jr. of the foundation; Judy Walker, Katelyn Smith, Mariana Hofffman, Jim Lovette, Bonnie Hannis, Lynda Carey, Lynn Litzelman, dax Bringhurst and Chris DeDen. Not shown are Barb Rine, Kathy Shortledge, Shonah Hunter and Carla Mantle, among others.
