Woolrich Store: the end is near
WOOLRICH, PA – Operators of the Woolrich Store have posted word that the longtime Woolrich village fixture will be holding a “mill liquidation and auction” at the store on June 16-18. That word comes after officials announced in May the store would be closing for good by the end of June.
According to information shared by the store, the sale will offer discounts of up to 85% and will include apparel and home goods. Multiple items from the mill itself are on sale, from push carts to bobbins.
As part of the liquidation, a silent auction is being held on many iconic Woolrich items from both the store and the long vacant mill. The online silent auction is to close on Monday, June 19 at 5 p.m. Those wishing to bid may do so by emailing Pennsylvania@woolrich.com.
The Woolrich woolen business dates to 1830. Long a Rich family-owned business, Woolrich was acquired by European entities earlier this century. Manufacturing ended in 2018 and the mammoth mill building remains for sale. There has been no word on plans for the Woolrich Store building.
