Central Mountain athletes college-bound to continue their education

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – In recent weeks multiple Central Mountain High School student athletes have committed to colleges or universities to continue their athletic and academic careers. They were recognized at a signing event, family members in attendance. 

Wildcat Athletic Director Steve Hafele said, “These student-athletes are honored for the commitment that they have made to their teams and classrooms.  Everyone at Central Mountain wants to wish these student-athletes all the best of luck at the next level of competition and in their future endeavors.”

The CM students’ achievements and accolades during their time at Central Mountain: 

Nathan Helms

Accomplishments: high honor roll Student 

1st team Sun Gazette Catcher 

First team HAC-I Catcher 

Nate was part of three straight District 6 championship baseball teams.

Present for his signing were his mother(Barbara Helms and brother Michael Fowler.

Nate will continue his education at the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown.

Jack Hanna 

Jack will be attending Lock Haven University.

– 3x 1st Team HAC-1 Selection (only in school history)

– HAC-1 Champion

– HAC Tournament Champion

– Started 3 consecutive District VI Class 5A Finals

– 2x District Champion

– Started in 4 career State Playoff games 

– Played in 88 career games starting 71 of them

– 4th player in school history to score 1,000 points (1,060) (3rd to do it in just a CM uniform)

– 5th in single season points

– 4th in career made 3s

– 4th in career assists

– 3rd in career steals

– Altoona Mirror All-Star selection

– Central PA All-Star selection

Hayden Pardoe

Hayden will be attending Lycoming College.

Junior Season:

Senior Season:

  • 24-3 Overall Record (Best Ever)

Audrey Walker

She has been playing ball since she was five-years-old and part of the high school district team for three years, She is member of the National Honor Society and student council, She has been on the Central PA Sharks travel softball team for four years and a high honor roll/honor roll student for all four years of high school. She is planning on attending Penn State Dubois.

Those at her event included Bruce Walker (dad), Chelsea Walker (mom), Blake Walker (brother-in 9th grade), and Coach Tomb (Penn State DuBois softball coach).

Allison Lininger

She will be attending Penn State DuBois next year with a major of human development and family studies. She was a part of the National Honor Society in high school and will be a part of the PSU-DuBois honors program. Her accomplishments include winning the district softball title in 2022 and 2023 and making the District 6 all-star team for softball both sophomore and junior years. 



Garrison Lucus 

Garrison has participated in track and field since the 7th grade with one season of cross country and two seasons of indoor track mixed in. For the 2023 track season, he was voted to be the Boys Team Captain. Garrison currently holds two indoor track records and two outdoor track records, and is tied for a third outdoor record. Garrison will attend Commonwealth University at Lock Haven to study Strength & Conditioning.

Grace Rizzo

She has been on the track team since 7th grade and lettered every year in high school. Junior year saw her place placed first in Discus at districts and competed at the state meet. She has been an honor roll student and involved with the National Honors Society. Senior year has seen her be a full dual enrollment student, only taking classes at LHU. She will be majoring in Psychology at Bloomsburg University and plans to attend grad school after that.
