Millville downs Bucktail baseball 17-4

By Bees O’Brien

FARWELL, PA- Bucktail baseball continued to show signs of improvement despite being at the end of another lopsided defeat. It was the Quakers of Millville providing the opposition on Monday in Farwell and the visitors jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after one inning and it appeared that they were on pace for a quick 3-inning road victory.

Bucktail would counter with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning, but a huge 6-run, error riddled top of the second would put Millville in firm control. The Bucks would counter with a run of their own in the bottom of the second inning, but Millville would eventually tack on 6 more runs in the next two innings of play to set the final at 17-4.

Kyler Friese, Brett Mason, Jeremy Gallagher and Gary Whipp all had singles for the Bucks at the plate.

The Bucks will next be in action on Thursday when they travel to Taggart Park in Lock Haven to face Sugar Valley Rural Charter School. Bucktail defeated the Phoenix 13-12 earlier this season. This game will be livestreamed on The Record Online.
