Obituary

David Grotzinger, 45, of Washington Twp., PA passed away on April 25th at Harrisburg Hospital. His family is deeply saddened by his passing. He was born on August 2nd, 1977.

David was born to John and Brenda Grotzinger in Harrisburg, PA. After David graduated from Upper Dauphin Area High School in 1996, he went on to study Computer Sciences at Harrisburg Community College and finished his degree at Penn Tech in Enola, PA.

Due to on-going health complications caused by a motor vehicle accident as a young adult David was unable to work full-time but did enjoy computers and donated his website expertise and time to the church and a few other businesses over the years. He also loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Lea. In the summertime you could find David sitting outside soaking up the sun or riding around town. He had a strong community presence and donated his time to local groups when his health allowed. He had an amazing sense of humor and always gave the best gifts because he knew people he loved so well. Despite all that he went through David continued to have a strong faith in God and was a member of The United Methodist Church in Elizabethville, PA.

David was predeceased by his grandparents Joseph and Barbara Grotzinger of Renovo, PA, and William and June Bowes also of Renovo, PA and his Godfather and Uncle Mike Grotzinger of Mechanicsburg, and an Aunt Carol Bowes Kell of Renovo, PA and an Uncle Ed Kormanec of Renovo, PA. He was also predeceased by his cousin, Michael Bowes of Harrisburg, PA.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Grotzinger of Elizabethville, PA, his father, John and his wife Marjorie Grotzinger of Renovo, PA and his sister Paula Grotzinger and her boyfriend, Joe, of Daytona Beach, FL. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a viewing held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd, Elizabethville on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 10:30 AM- 12:00 PM. Services will start at 12 PM with Rev Bill Romberger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Trinity United Methodist Church of Elizabethville or The Elizabethville Ambulance Association, who have helped him on multiple occasions.

David was a beautiful person inside and out. He loved to make people laugh, usually with a sarcastic comment, but he cared so deeply for the people around him and made an impact on so many. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
