New Lock Haven skateboard park coming this year
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Lock Haven’s longstanding Hoberman Park is scheduled for a major upgrade this year and next and city officials will herald the improvements at a groundbreaking on May 19.
First up will be a new skateboard park, scheduled for construction this year. The city had been awarded $735,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the work last October. That grant followed design for the new park with input from the public and the American Ramp Company.
As part of the two-phase upgrade, multiple Hoberman Park improvements are scheduled for 2024, including the playground, pavilions, a community garden, multi-purpose and basketball courts, restrooms, parking and improvements to the Hoberman Little League Field which dates to the 1940s.
The May 19 groundbreaking will hear from representatives from agencies involved in funding the improvements.
