Obituary

Roger A. Williams, Sr., 92, of McElhattan, was called home to the Lord on April 12, 2023 at Geisinger ManorCare, Jersey Shore.

Born January 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Willis and Elaine Willow Williams.

Roger was an employee of the Piper Aircraft Corporation for 33 years and one of the final employees at the time it closed. Roger was also beloved at the Lock Haven YMCA for twelve years prior to his retirement.

Roger enjoyed gardening throughout his life and was a true ‘Jack-of-all-trades.’ He was an avid listener of his favorite music and was very proud of his “parties” at his creek home in Mill Hall. The Back Beats celebrated a many memorable gatherings that remain legendary to today. He also loved his Johnny & June Cash collection. Some of Rogers proudest moments were watching his six sons excel in wrestling and was always in attendance for their matches.

He was truly honored to have spent the past 71 years with the love his life, the former Kathryn Hill, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, Roger, Jr., Kim, Wayne, Mark (Sheila), Terry (Carol), and Wade (Christina) Williams; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam; a brother, Garnet; and one granddaughter, Annie Williams.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 1 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745. A burial committal service will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
