Wildcats down Seals 7-3
SELINSGROVE, PA -The Central Mountain baseball team hit the road again Wednesday, opening the Heartland I Conference play to take on the Selinsgrove. Coach Mike Kramer’s Wildcats got the 7-3 win and move to 3-0 on the season.
Central Mountain got things started in the first inning scoring one run off a single by Gabe Johnson. The Wildcats bats stayed hot, putting up two runs in the second, one run in the fourth and three runs in the sixth inning to get the 7-3 victory.
Chase Brush got the win for the Wildcats. He allowed five hits, three runs and had one strikeout over five innings of work. Brady Myers came in from the bullpen in relief throwing two innings allowing two hits.
Central Mountain had 11 hits in total from multiple Wildcats. Cru Stover, Johnson and Nate Helms each had two hits. Kevin Grenninger, Connor Foltz, Levi Schlesinger, Braylen Corter and Gardy Fravel each had a hit.
Selinsgrove had seven hits, Caleb Hicks and Tyler Swineford with multiple. Swineford took the loss for Selinsgrove going five and a thirds innings.
With the win the Wildcats move to 3-0 on the season, 1-0 in the Heartland conference. The Seals fall 2-1
The Wildcats have their home opener on Thursday, a makeup game Milton Area that had been postponed Monday due to weather. Eric Frank and Tom Elling will have the call of the livestream on therecord-online. First pitch scheduled for 4:30p.m. Milton is 1-0 on the young season.
