Wildcat baseball 2-0, down DuBois 14-1
DUBOIS, PA – The Central Mountain baseball team is off to a 2-0 start after a 14-1, 5-inning road win at DuBois on Friday.
The Wildcats all but put the game away in the top of the second inning, plating eight runs. The inning featured RBI singles from Braylen Corter, Kevin Grenninger and Gardy Fravel, plus a double from Elek Fravel.
Cru Stover earned the win, going the first four innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out six and walking two. Dallas Alexander pitched a hitless, scoreless fifth inning.
The Wildcats pounded out 14 hits, led by Elek Fravel’s 3-for-3 day with three RBIs and two doubles. Probst finished with a double, single, three RBIs and two stolen bases. Gardy Fravel finished with two singles, as did Grenninger. Singles also came from Corter, Brady Myers and Gabe Johnson. The Wildcats also benefited from eight walks and stole eight bases.
Central Mountain is scheduled for its home opener Monday, Milton coming to Mill Hall Community Park.
