Harding calls on state representatives to focus on local issues

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County Commissioner Angela Harding on Thursday urged elected officials representing Clinton County in Harrisburg to focus on areas of local concern. The occasion was the county commissioners’ meeting and Harding did not mention state Rep. Stephanie Borowicz or state Sen. Cris Dush by name and said she meant “no disrespect” to an aide to Rep. Borowicz who was present at the commissioners meeting.

Harding offered a listing of issues confronting Clinton County and its residents. These included, she said, a housing crisis, a declining population, a work force issue, a reduction in hospital services, an EMS crisis, a stagnant minimum wage and local education “under fire.” Harding then said, “I would really like to request that our representatives for Clinton County specifically focus on the issues that are dire for our community.”

Harding offered a number of positives in the community and urged the public to attend local events and support local education and youth and “find positives…and support the people trying to implement change.”

Rep. Borowicz is a resident of Clinton County and her district includes all of Clinton County and a portion of Union County. Sen. Dush resides in Jefferson County and his district covers seven counties, including Clinton.
