Wildcat pairings announced for PIAA wrestling tourney

MECHANICSBURG, PA – The PIAA on Sunday announced the pairings for the state wrestling tournament to begin at the Giant Center in Hershey on Thursday.

Central Mountain will have five entrants, including three returning medalists in defending champion Dalton Perry, two-time fifth place finisher Luke Simcox and eighth-place finisher Griffin Walizer. Making their first trip to states will be brothers Gino and Rocco Serafini.

First round matches:

133 pounds: Luke Simcox (NW1, 36-4, jr) vs winner of pigtail bout between Eli Bounds(SC3, Boiling Springs, 35-5) and Gunnar Myers (NE4, Wallenpaupack, 40-5)

139 pounds: Dalton Perry (NW2, 40-5, soph) vs Gavin Reynolds (SC3, Central Dauphin,36-10)

145 pounds: Griffin Walizer (NW2, 34-10, jr) vs Ryan Santiago (NE2, Bethlehem Liberty, 29-8)

160 pounds: Gino Serafini (NW2, 17-12, sr) vs Gavin Pascoe (SE2, Perkiomen Valley, 39-8)

189 pounds: Rocco Serafini (NW2, 35-12, jr) vs Dean Bechtold (SE1, Owen J. Roberts, 39-8)
