LOCKPORT, PA – Woodward Township has posted word from PennDOT that work will resume Monday, March 6 on the Riverview Park Walkway, that project begun in 2022 and suspended over the winter.
Per word relayed by the township:

Clearwater Construction, Inc. is carrying out the contract for the construction of a retaining wall and Farrandsville Road reconstruction.

PennDOT told the township it expects to implement short term traffic control (flagging) along SR 1001 (Farrandsville Road) and at the north end of the Veterans Bridge during next week.

This work will last approximately one week, with a long-term lane closure to follow the week of March 13. The closure will be implemented by closing the left(south) lane of the Farrandsville Road and shifting traffic to one lane under temporary traffic signal control.

T-359 (West River Drive) will be detoured by using two-way traffic. This pattern is anticipated through the end of the 2023 construction season.

At the time of the project unveiling in 2021, PennDOT said the project purpose is to provide “safe connectivity for pedestrians from Jay Street Bridge to Riverview Park.” It was noted there are no safe pedestrian or bicycle facilities linking Lock Haven residents to the upriver recreational facilities along the Woodward Township side of the river or within Riverview Park.

PennDOT officials said the work will run from the Veterans Bridge 1,400 feet upriver. “The roadway will be realigned and a sidewalk (with an 8-foot width) will be added adjacent to the river side…to accommodate pedestrian traffic.”
