PennDOT lifts vehicle restrictions in north central region
Some speed limit reductions remain in effect.
CLEARFIELD, PA – PennDOT Wednesday afternoon lifted the temporary restriction on certain vehicles from traveling on Interstates in the North Central Region.
Due to winter storm Kassandra impacting the region, PennDOT temporarily restricted certain vehicles from using the interstates earlier today to help ensure that the interstates remained open during the most challenging conditions of the winter storm. The vehicle restrictions reflected Tier 1 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan (PDF).
Speed limits remain restricted to 45 mph on the following roadways for all vehicles, and commercial vehicles not affected by other roadway restrictions must move to the right lane:
• Interstate 80 from exit 173/Lamar to the New Jersey State Line
• Route 322/22 from I-99 to the Juniata/Perry County Line
Additionally, speed limits remain reduced to 55 mph on I-80 between exit 101/DuBois-Penfield and exit 123/Woodland-Shawville.
