Leadership Clinton County meets the media
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Leadership Clinton County participants in January explored the relationship between the media and the public, and discussed the tools necessary to improve communication between both.
Representatives from The Express and The Record newspapers spoke to the 16-member class, highlighting how businesses and organizations can work with the media to positively affect a community. Julie Brennan with the Clinton County Economic Partnership assisted with the discussion and provided guidance on how to write a news release and public service announcement.
Elizabeth Arnold and Doug Spatafore, both from Commonwealth University of PA-Lock Haven, spoke to the class on the importance of Public Relations and how to use it effectively. They also helped the class better understand how to use Social Media as a tool to promote their business/organization.
Participants then traveled to Schlesinger Communications where they learned about broadcast communications.
Sponsors for this month’s Leadership session included Clinton County Commissioners; Clinton County Community Foundation; Clinton County Economic Partnership; First Quality; Leadership Clinton County Alumni Association; M&T Bank; M&R Contracting, Inc.; PPL Foundation; and Terrapin Care Station.
