The holiday season is upon us
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Don’t look now, but it will be a headlong rush through the holidays and into the New Year. Events began Sunday in downtown Lock Haven. They included a large and enthusiastic turnout at the Covenant United Methodist Church for the first Lock Haven Community Chorus holiday concert in three years; the annual event falling victim to the pandemic. The program under the direction of conductor Kay E. Knarr-Fisher even included an audience sing-a-long to favorite holiday songs.
Downtown Lock Haven Inc., saw a sizeable crowd for Lock Haven’s annual Christmas tree lighting at Triangle Park. The park was aglow in holiday lights and the Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble entertained with multiple musical selections at the park gazebo.
Multiple holiday happenings are still to come in both ends of Clinton County. They will include:
Downtown Lock Haven will stage its Haven Holidays Parade this Saturday, Nov. 26 beginning at 6 p.m. on Main Street. Floats will be decorated in a holiday song of the organization’s or participant’s choice. And there will be live reindeer and Santa Claus after the parade, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Sarah’s Alley between Stella A’s and Rachel K’s Creations.
Sunday, Nov. 27 is a big day in Renovo with the annual Flaming Foliage Santa Parade and the Lighting of the Christmas Tree; that event begins at 4 p.m. Santa will be in attendance following the parade to hear Christmas wishes. Children are invited to bring a Christmas ornament for placement on the Christmas tree and snacks and hot chocolate will be provided for the kids.
