Lock Haven man, 71, sentenced to state time for stalking, PFA violations
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Larry Fetter, 71, of Lock Haven, was sentenced Monday to a 12 month to 66 month period of state prison time after an extended string of criminal convictions and repeated failure to abide by court-imposed supervision.
According to a release from the office of Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse, Fetter had originally been convicted in 2021 on one count of criminal trespass. Shortly thereafter, Fetter was convicted of a PFA violation for his failure to comply with court restrictions that had been imposed upon him. Most recently, in March of 2022, Fetter was charged with stalking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and has been incarcerated ever since.
Fetter eventually entered a guilty plea to the stalking charge, and on Monday, Judge Michael F. Salisbury sent him to state prison. Salisbury told Fetter that he was quite certain that he would continue to re-offend if he didn’t send him to state prison. Fetter pleaded with the Court to allow him to be released, and claimed that being in jail had given him a “new perspective.” District Attorney Dave Strouse argued that Fetter didn’t get it, refused to follow court orders, and opined that perhaps he never will. Fetter will be eligible for parole after the first 12 months of the sentence, but will be monitored by state probation and parole for five and a half years.
