Lock Haven council okays allocation to YMCA to assist pool restoration
LOCK HAVEN, PA – City council made it official Monday night: a final city okay to allocate $31,047 in federal American Rescue Plan money towards needed improvements at the Lock Haven YMCA.
Council’s unanimous approval for a needed resolution permitting the drawdown of ARP dollars puts the pool renovation campaign over the top for its “Tier One” effort to raise $280,000 for a new HVAC system in the Dan Piper Memorial Pool on E. Water Street.
Y officials anticipate the work will be carried out sometime this fall, allowing the pool to reopen for the first time since 2020 after the old HVAC system gave out. A formal thank you to the city and other project supports is expected in the near future.
