Bid deadline extended in Armstrong Flooring bankruptcy proceeding
BEECH CREEK TOWNSHIP, PA – Armstrong Flooring has received bankruptcy court approval to extend the bid deadline for at least six flooring facilities, including one near Lancaster and one in Beech Creek Township. Bids will now be received until June 23, with June 14 the original deadline. The move was granted because of potential “going concern bidders” that are finalizing their offers.
Assuming more than one qualified bid is received, an auction will take place June 27 to determine the highest or best offer. If satisfactory bids are selected by the Armstrong Board of Directors, the company will present the winning bid to a Delaware bankruptcy court at a hearing set for June 29.
A company statement read, “Armstrong Flooring is open for business and remains firmly committed to our customers, vendors and employees as we navigate the path forward. We are confident that this definitive action puts us in the best possible position to preserve and maximize value for our stakeholders.”
The Armstrong facility at Beech Creek Township employs approximately 35 people. The parent company had recently alerted its workers they may face permanent layoff if the company does not find a buyer.
