Identities released in Route 64 Centre County fatal crash

WALKER TOWNSHIP, PA – Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers on Thursday released the identities of the two people who died in a Wednesday afternoon head-on crash on Route 64 (Nittany Valley Drive) in Walker Township, Centre County.

The fatal victims were identified as Samuel Keller, 71, of Petersburg, and Brandy Butler, 29, from Jersey Shore. The coroner said both died from blunt force trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the vehicle driven by Keller was southbound on Route 64 near Hublersburg Road when it began drifting into the northbound lane and struck head-on a car operated by Torra Cassel, 24, of Lock Haven. She suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to Altoona UPMC. The Butler woman was a passenger in the Cassel vehicle.

The accident was the third fatal crash on Route 64 in Walker Township in April.
