County commissioners recognize dispatchers

LOCK HAVEN, PA – During their Thursday meeting Clinton County commissioners’ recognized local dispatchers. Commissioner Angela Harding read the a proclamation declaring April 11th to 17th as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.  Mr. Andrew Kremser, Director of Clinton County Emergency Services, thanked the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services Dispatchers. He stated, “that the dispatchers are Clinton County’s faceless heroes. They are the calm voice at the other end of the phone, working holidays and long shifts away from their families making sure that the residents of Clinton County get the help they need during times of emergencies.”

The Commissioners thanked the dispatchers for their dedication to the community.
The Proclamation text below:
PROCLAMATION:   National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week      April 11-17, 2022
WHEREAS, emergencies can occur at any time that require police, fire or emergency medical services; and,
WHEREAS,  when an emergency occurs the prompt response of police officers, firefighters and paramedics is critical to the protection of life and preservation of property; and,
WHEREAS, the safety of our police officers and firefighters is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who telephone the Clinton County Communications center; and,
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators, also known as Dispatchers, are the first and most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services; and,
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators are the single vital link for our police officers and firefighters by monitoring their activities by radio, providing them information and insuring their safety; and,
WHEREAS, Clinton County’s Public Safety Telecommunicators have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires, and treatment of patients; and,
WHEREAS, each Dispatcher has exhibited compassion, understanding and professionalism during the performance of their job in the past year;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Clinton County Board of Commissioners hereby declares the week of April 11 through 17, 2022 to be National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Clinton County and proudly affirm our support of the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep our County and citizens safe.
