CM pairings announced for PIAA Wrestling Tourney

HERSHEY, PA- Four Central Mountain wrestlers know who their opponents will be when the PIAA championships open Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey. The four state qualifiers emerged from the Northwestern Regional tournament; they are freshman Dalton Perry, first at 126 pounds, sophomore Luke Simcox, first at 132 pounds, senior Taylor Weaver, second at 138 pounds, and sophomore Griffin Walizer, third at 145 pounds.

Perry (37-2) draws the winner of a pigtail match between senior Zach Luckenbaugh, a south-central fourth place winner from Dallastown with a record of 34-8, and Zander Phatorus, a senior from Waynesburg with a record of 33-8 and a third place finish in the WPIAL.

Simcox (35-4) will meet the winner of a pigtail match between Jared Fulton (31-8), a junior from Solanco and a fourth place south-central finisher and Blake Reihner (33-9), a sophomore from Trinity and a third place finisher in the southeastern regional.

Taylor (26-10) will meet Dominic Jurado (35-5), a senior from Wilson and a south-central runner-up.

Walizer (27-11) will wrestle Mike Trainer (35-4) from Octorara, a senior and south-central champion.
