State COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported 3,967 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest one day amount since mid-November. The highest one-day amount during the pandemic in the state was 12,884 recorded Dec. 5, 2020.

4,177 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, up 71 from Sunday. Those in intensive care on Monday numbered 879, a drop of two from Sunday.

Clinton County reported 14 new cases for a total of 6,226, the lowest number of new cases since five were recorded on Nov. 27. In Centre County 35 new cases were recorded for a total of 23,392. Lycoming County added 40 new cases for a total of 20,076.

The state Monday reported 60 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained unchanged at 95.
