Northernmost end of Lock Haven’s Fallon Alley closed to through traffic; Fallon sidewalk closed to foot traffic
LOCK HAVEN, PA – A crew on Tuesday repositioned a security fence around the Fallon Hotel on E. Water Street. A snow fence installed there earlier this month was moved further away from the hotel’s exterior, now going across the northern end of the adjacent Fallon Alley, closing the alley to through traffic. City Council last week approved a request to close the hotel’s adjacent alley for the installation of a security fence while the hotel’s current owner addresses code requirements as he works to restore and reopen the currently empty city landmark.
The snow fence repositioning has also closed off the sidewalk in front of the hotel to Water Street foot traffic.
Fallon owner C & Q Investments is working against a Nov. 12 deadline to submit required engineering plans to address city code board concerns about the building’s structural integrity.
At last week’s council meeting City Manager Greg Wilson said the code board concern is debris falling from the Fallon roof or falling brick work. The fencing is to be in place as those issues are addressed.
