Commercial airline service out of Williamsport ends
MONTOURSVILLE, PA – With the last flight out on Thursday, commercial airline service has come to an end, at least temporarily, at the Williamsport Regional Airport, despite the best efforts of the airport authority to keep service intact.
The Williamsport Regional Authority posted an update on its Facebook page on Thursday:
As most are aware, today will be the last day for American Airlines service at IPT. The Authority has been working with multiple airlines to replace the service. However due to timing, issues relating to COVID, and aircrew availability we now plan to have new service begin sometime in early spring 2022. Keep an eye out for us, we will be back.
The airport had undergone a multi-million dollar upgrade in recent years and most recently had run a marketing campaign to try and attract more passengers.
