Obituary

Emogene O. Williamson passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the age of 100.

She was born in Centre County, the daughter of the late Harry C. and Ruth N. Smeltzer.

Emogene was a 1938 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

She was married to Stiles F. Williamson, who preceded her in death in 2003.

Emogene was an active member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ since 1934. She was also a member of the Col. Hugh White NSDAR and of the State College Marine Corps. League.

She was very active in defense work during WWII before she became a devoted homemaker for many years. She also worked alongside her son, Carl, at Williamson Honda of Mill Hall, where she served as Public Notary in addition to her many other roles.

The hallmark of Emogene’s life was her unconditional love and support given to her family and friends. In her senior years she was self-reliant and spirited, walking on the Great Wall of China at the age of 87.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth R. and Carl S. (Kathryn) Williamson; a daughter, Tonya (Frederick) Osborne; five grandchildren: Kelly (Randy) Swanger, David Williamson, Capt. Kenneth R. Williamson, II, U.S.M.C. Ret., Daniel Osborne and Paige Hope; and five great-grandchildren: Austen Swanger, Abby Williamson, Max Williamson, Stiles Osborne and Avery Osborne.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
