Mifflinburg bops Keystone 10s in sectional opener
LONG RUN, PA – The Keystone 10 all-stars started well, hosting sectional play on Friday. Manager Cole Hanley’s team had a 3-1 lead over Mifflinburg after one inning when the rains came and play was suspended.
But Saturday was all Mifflinburg, the visitors taking the lead with six runs in the third inning on the way to a 14-6 win. The loss puts Keystone in the loser’s bracket, scheduled to play Wellsboro at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Long Run field.
Keystone used five pitchers against Mifflinburg. The visitors pounded out 15 hits; 10 of their 14 runs were earned.
Keystone had seven basehits; they came from Brad Brungard, Hayden Kshir, Eli Shadle, Evan Batterson, Carson Smith, Carter Frank and Heath Marino.
