Obituary

Janet A. Meyer, 86, of Loganton passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at her home.

Born July 26, 1934 in Loganton, she was a daughter of the late Forrest and Hazel (Barner) Lamey.

Janet was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School.

On July 28, 1962 at Albright United Methodist Church in Loganton, she married her love, Lewis E. Meyer, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2014.

Janet was employed by Sylvania, State Bank of Avis and then the local Country Store for many years.

She was a member of Albright United Methodist Church.

Janet enjoyed shopping with her sisters.

She cherished her family, loving every minute she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Julie (Dave) of Loganton; two grandchildren: Shane (Kayla) and Alyssa (Lukes) and four great grandchildren: Tacie, Ryder, Zaiden and Rhett.

Also surviving are thirteen siblings: Lois Heckel, Louise Frankenberger, Vivian Weaver, Sara Heggenstaller, Eleanor Young, Franklin Lamey, Kathaleen Brungart, Forrest Lamey, Jr., Darlene Carey, John Lamey, William Lamey, Connie Royer and Mary Brungard; two sisters-in-law, Jane Hutchinson and Ann McLean; and two brothers-in-law, David and Bill Meyer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Gentilman and Nancy Blevins; a brother, Robert Lamey; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Meyer.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E. Main St., Loganton with Pastor Brenda Mitchell officiating.  Burial at Fairview Cemetery will follow.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Wednesday from 6 until 8 P.M.

Memorial contributions in Janet’s name may be made to Albright United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
