CM’s McKeague shuts out Shik, 6-0
SUNBURY, PA – Central Mountain freshman pitcher Adalynn McKeague pitched a shutout Tuesday, a complete game 2-hitter as the Lady Wildcats traveled to Shikellamy and came home with a 6-0 win.
The win was the fifth in a row for the now 9-1 Lady Wildcats, ranked third in the state in the most recent MaxPreps Class 5A rankings. Shikellamy had been ranked number four and dropped to 8-5 with the loss.
McKeague was strong from the outset, giving up singles in the second and seventh innings in a complete game performance. She struck out seven and walked one.
Meanwhile the Lady Wildcats punched out nine hits, led by Riley Houser with a 3-for-4 game with a 2-RBI single in the third to start the scoring and an RBI single in the seventh. Caitlyn Watson had two hits, including a three-run double in the third. Madisyn Wian added two hits and Allison Lininger and Lexi Strouse each had one.
Central Mountain returns home Thursday for a 3 p.m. doubleheader with Shamokin (8-2).
