Clinton County keeps pushing for more COVID-19 vaccine
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Commissioners, at their Thursday meeting, reiterated their frustration in getting more COVID-19 vaccine into the county.
Commissioner Angela Harding said the commissioners and the Clinton County Community Coalition continue their push with the state for more vaccine. Harding said most recently the only supplies coming into the county were for Mill Hall Pharmacy and the local Weis Markets.
The commissioners noted that the opening of a UPMC vaccination site at the Dunnstown Fire Hall is through a distribution from UPMC Williamsport and not part of any state vaccines earmarked for Clinton County. They said UPMC has a waiting list for the Dunnstown Fire Hall and the number to call is 844-876-2822; another option is online at vaccine@upmc.com.
The commissioners authorized a certificate of appreciation for Mike Doebler who served 48 years on the Clinton County Recreation Authority, 36 of those as chairman. Doebler resigned recently due to health issues. Board chairman Miles Kessinger said he believes Doebler’s 48 years is a record for volunteer service to the county.
The authority oversees the Belles Springs golf course and course pro Judd Caruso said Doebler and his wife, Beverly, are “the definition of dedication to a cause.” Kessinger said that Beverly Doebler will be continuing her volunteer support for the Belles Springs course. In thanking Mike Doebler, chairman Kessinger encouraged him to get better and get back on the golf course.
