Access to the Clinton County Courts Limited amid COVID-19 Mitigation Efforts

LOCK HAVEN – President Judge Craig P. Miller on Wednesday ordered that public access to the Clinton County Courthouse and Garden Building in Lock Haven, and the Magisterial District Courts in Flemington, Mill Hall and Renovo will be limited, consistent with direction from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 19and continuing until Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 11:59 p.m., the operations and ongoing business of the Court of Common Pleas shall be limited to Protection from Abuse Actions, Elder Abuse Cases, Juvenile Shelter Care and Juvenile Detention Hearings, Injunction Proceedings and Mental Health Commitment Hearings.

The Magisterial District Judges will be available to preside over Emergency Protection from Abuse Requests, Preliminary Arraignments, and Bail Proceedings.  Domestic Relations and Adult/Juvenile Probation offices will be closed.

The exclusive purpose of this Order is to promote the health, safety and welfare of the public and Court employees.  All Court employees will work from home during this period of limited access.

Any individual desiring access to the Courts of the Twenty-Fifth Judicial District and find they are unable, should contact the Court Administrator at 570-893-4131.

The courthouse release said the order “does not in any way pertain to County offices, such as The Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts, Commissioners, Assessment, Treasurer, Conservation District, etc…, all housed in the Piper Building and elsewhere.”
