A Stirring Concert “For Our Vets” Held at Lock Haven University
LOCK HAVEN – A large and appreciative audience was in attendance at Lock Haven University’s Price Performance Center Sunday afternoon as the choirs from the university and the Central Mountain Middle School combined their talents for a special “Concert for Our Vets.” Michael Connor, faculty member at the middle school and choir director at Lock Haven University, directed the hour-long program which featured numbers from the two choirs separately and also in combination. Close to 100 choir members participated
Both choirs sang the National Anthem with accompaniment by Dave Sorgen on the trumpet as colors were presented by the Lock Haven University ROTC. The combined choirs finished with a rousing, audience sing-along “This L’il Light of Mine,” followed by the retirement of the colors.
Local veterans were recognized by branch of service as the university choir performed the “Armed Forces Salute” and audience members applauded their service.
Similar events are planned for local schools on Monday, Veterans Day, including at Robb Elementary in Lock Haven at 9 a.m. and the annual Veterans Day Assembly at the Bucktail Middle/Senior High School at 9:30 a.m.
