Lady Wildcat Tennis Clinches PHAC Crown with 4-1 Win over Milton

tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat tennis team clinched the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference championship for the 2019 season with a 4-1 win over visiting Milton on Friday afternoon.

Kendall McCluskey picked up the first win of the day for the Lady ‘Cats rebounding over Milton’s, Hannah Seebold, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 at No. 1 singles. Lady Panther, Haley Seebold picked up Milton’s only win of the day by outlasting Carolina Carpenetti in the tie-breaker, 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 at No. 2 Singles. At No. 3 singles, Olivia Anastos picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win for CM over Milton’s, Payton Ritter.

Central Mountain’s Natalie Brown and Kati Kwiatek defeated Kenzie Counsil and Brooklyn Wade, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and the Lady Wildcat duo of Ella Talbot and Caitlyn Dale topped Milton’s, Alanna Stamm and Maddy Nicholas, 6-1, 6-3 to close out the day.

This week Central Mountain also honored their four senior members, Kendall McCluskey, Claudia Gundy, Jesse Piergalini and Natalie Brown for their contributions to the Lady Wildcat tennis.

With the win, CM has a 13-2 overall record and are a perfect 11-0 in PHAC play with just two matches remaining. The Lady Wildcats will host their final conference match with Williamsport on Wednesday, Oct. 9, then Tyrone on Thursday, Oct. 10 for a none-conference match.
