Lady ‘Cat Tennis Drops Shik, 5-0
SUNBURY – The Lady Wildcat tennis squad picked up another clean sweep win on Monday, this time defeating Shikellamy, 5-0.
CM’s Kendall McCluskey dispatched Shik’s Melanie Minnier, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Carolina Carpenetti picked up a win for the Lady ‘Cats in straight sets over the Lady Brave’s, Anne Norris, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Olivia Anastos took care of Shikellamy’s Kiersten Strohecker, 6-0, 6-2.
In No. 1 doubles action, Central Mountain’s Caitlyn Dale and Ella Talbot defeated Shik’s Olivia Weaver and Kelly Sprenkle, 6-1, 6-0 followed by CM’s Gianna Renzo and Jesse Piergallini shutout over Kylie Stahl and Brynne Herrold, 6-0, 6-0 to close out the match.
The win over Shikellamy takes the Lady Wildcats to 3-0 for the 2019 season.
The competition will get tougher tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26 when Central Mountain hosts District 6 power, Hollidaysburg for a non-league match.
