Kathryn Lane (Martella) Poorman – Obituary
Kathryn Lane (Martella) Poorman passed away peacefully at her home on Oct., 28, 2018 surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born March 30th in Baltimore, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn Culver. Better Known as “Kitty” by the people who knew her, she was a successful self-made business woman and entrepreneur. Kitty loved to travel and was multi-talented which displayed itself in her creativity, flare for design and in the beautiful restoration of her homes.
She had a great sense of humor that matched her sense of adventure. She was a natural leader who cared deeply for her family and lived life to the fullest. One of Kitty’s greatest pleasures was spending time with her family-whether enjoying parties, playing cards or through quiet get togethers.
On November 18, 1978, Kitty married Bob Poorman, Jr. who survives in addition to her daughter Lori (Mike) Hehnly of Lancaster and her son Todd (Barb) Gregory of Renovo. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Lauren (Bill) Cameron-Wendler, Jeff Cameron, Brooke (Heath) Braunn, Brittany Scott, Brandy Gregory, Bethany Gregory.
Kitty is additionally survived by her sisters: Sherry (Charlie) Wray of Renovo, Julie Martella and Nancy Galbraith both of Lock Haven along with many nieces and nephews.
Kitty was preceded in death by her parents William and Evelyn Culver, a brother Jeffery Martella and a niece Jessica Gray.Kitty meant many things to many people and will be sadly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov., 4, 2018 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo with Greg Wilson officiating.
Interment will be private at North Bend Cemetery.
