John A. Green, Jr. – Obituary
NORTH BEND – John A. Green, Jr., 79, of Summerson Mountain, North Bend died Sunday, Sept., 16, 2018 at Bucktail Medical Center E.R. after being stricken at home.
He was born January 22, 1939 in Renovo a son of the late John A. Green, Sr. and Gladys (Ramsch).
He was a self-employed logger working over the years for Green Brothers Logging, Avery Coal and John Green and Son’s.
John loved farming, hunting, fishing, working on his saw mill running bulldozer and working in the woods or logging and being a forest fire warden. He was a man of deep faith and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are two sons, John A. (Dawn) Green, III and Lawrence W. (Bobbi Jo) Green both of North Bend and two daughters Kathy L. (Robert) Hillyer of Lock Haven and Christina (Ryan) Kolmus of CA.
He is survived by ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and two brothers, Frank and Robert also five sisters Gladys, Joan, Patricia, Shirley and Debbie.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
John was preceded in death by a son Robert James and a daughter Julianna and a sister Phyllis Bodley.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, Sept., 20, 2018 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo with Rev. Mahlon Nevel and Pastor Rich Colvin officiating.
Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Grace Baptist Church,15 S. Ransdorf Ave., North Bend, PA 17760.
Burial will follow at North Bend Cemetery.
