Karen Marie Labant – Obituary
Karen Marie Labant, 80, of Cross Fork, PA, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. She was born on November 26, 1937 in Corning NY.
Karen was a 1955 Graduate of Wellsboro-Charleston Joint High School. She loved her dogs, Sid and Kita, was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and loved Penn State Football. She was constantly checking her Twitter account, doing crossword puzzles, and was a fantastic cook. She was an avid reader, often reading a book a day. Karen received the most enjoyment from spending time with her family and friends who will never forget her strong will and amazing personality.
Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey (Linda) Labant, Scott Labant and Travis (Vicki Keener) Labant, all of Cross Fork; one daughter, Suzanne (Eric) Fritzinger, Lock Haven, PA; two brothers, Morris Mead and Jess Mead, both of MN; two sisters, Lena “Mudge” Empson, Ulysses, PA and Barb Dieter, NY; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Karen was predeceased by her husband, C. Joseph Labant.
A Private Service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart at Cole or the Galeton Public Library.
