CM’s Miller, Dershem Lead LHU Softball Recruiting Class

The LHU softball team has announced its 2018 recruiting class. All five student-athletes have either signed a National Letter of Intent or signed an agreement to play softball at LHU, and have been accepted.

LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University softball team has announced its 2018 recruiting class. This class includes two recently graduated Lady Wildcats from Central Mountain: Josie Dershem and Maegan Miller. Miller and Dershem will join another CM alum, Bree Hilty who will enter her senior year in the fall at LHU.

Coming off a special 2018 season, LHU head coach Kelly Shannon is very excited about this year’s recruiting class which includes five talented student-athletes. The class of five is made up of Amanda Criss, Josie Dershem, Madalyn Dydynski, Maegan Miller and Cameryn Rothrock.

“We are excited to welcome Amanda, Josie, Madalyn, Maegan and Cameryn to the LHU Softball family,” said Shannon. All five bring a strong softball background and competitive play to our team.” “This group is versatile, adds immediate depth and strengthens our roster. After a special season, it was important for us to match that success in recruiting and I feel we’ve done it. I look forward to having these talented young women represent us on and off the field.”

Amanda Criss

High School: Bel Air

Positions: OF, MIF, P

Honors: 4-year starter, 3-time All-County, Junior Year — Team MVP USSSA World Series MVP, Spanish Honor Society, Maryland Scholar, Academic Excellence recipient

Josie Dershem

Hometown: Lock Haven, Pa.

High School: Central Mountain

Position: 2B, OF

Honors: Freshman Year –1st Team All State, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Heartland Conference, Sophomore Year — 2nd Team All-Heartland Conference, Junior Year –1st Team All Heartland Conference, 4-year starter

Madalyn Dydynski

Hometown: Nichlos, N.Y.

High School: Tioga Central

Position: P

Honors: Varsity softball — 4 years, Captain –senior year, Junior Year — 2nd Team All Selection, 4-time IAC Small School Champion. Lettered in softball and field hockey. Academic –National Honor Society, High Honor Roll

Maegan Miller

Hometown: Lock Haven, Pa.

High School: Central Mountain

Position: OF

Honors: 2-year captain, Junior Year –All District. Academic: Valedictorian for Central Mountain High School, National and French Honor Society.

Cameryn Rothrock

Hometown: York, Pa.

High School: Central York

Positions: 3B/1B

Honors: Second Team All York County, Honorable Mention for Gamete PA YAIAA, Distinguished Honor Roll all four years, National Honor Society
