CM Sends Three to State Meet (Video Added)
ALTOONA – Postponed a day to avoid expected severe weather, the District 6 PIAA AAA track and field championships were held Friday, May 16 at Mansion Park Stadium.
Three Central Mountain Wildcats will advance to the PIAA AAA state championship meet next week in Shippensburg. Kyler Klein placed first in the boys’ javelin with a throw of 190’5″ while Loc Long finished in the top spot of boys’ discus with a throw of 139’9″. For the Lady ‘Cats, Jena Toner outpaced the field with a a time of 12.33 in the girls’ 100M dash.
On the day the Wildcats finished fourth in the team standings with boys posting 64 points and the girls earning 83 points. The main contributing factor was several key second place finishes by underclassmen which bodes well for the future.
Freshman, Bryce Mansfield placed second in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.91.
Luarel Moyer finished second in the 1600 in 5:33.08 and the 3200 in 12:01.65. The 4×100 relay squad of Cassie Lehman, Troyanna Egan, Jamey Renninger and Kathryn Myers placed second in 52.50. Grayson McCloy cleared 5’2″ for second place in the high jump. Jena Toner also placed second in the Long jump with a distance of 17’2″
Mike Sikorskas placed fourth in the shot-put and discus throwing 45’0″ and 127’2″ respectively to culminate his senior season.
