Wildcat Tennis falls to Millionaires, 5-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain tennis squad opened their 2018 season with a loss to rival Williamsport on Monday afternoon.
Central Mountain’s Matt Schubach fell to Williamsport’s Kevin Zheng, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while the Wildcat’s Raahi Chapla fell 6-4, 6-0 to the Millionaire’s Ty Jackson at No. 2 singles. Then at No. 3 singles, CM’s Micah Brinker came up short against Billtown’s Tiaran Ferry, 6-1, 6-2.
In No. 1 doubles action, the Wildcat duo of Gavin Walker and Tyler Cygan were defeated 6-3, 6-1 by the Millionaire’s Liam Ferry and Amani Tran. Williamsport’s Ben Housemann and Michael LeBlanc finished the clean sweep by defeating CM’s Kaden Powers and Ujjval Adroja, 6-0, 6-3.
Central Mountain will next host Selinsgrove on Wednesday, March 21.
